Design and Display
The Vivo Y3 standard edition is made from glass which looks really attractive, what i hate about glasses though is that they attract fingerprint stains a lot.
It has a dimension of 159.4 x 76.7 x 8.9 mm which will feel very compact in your hand and weighs around 191 grams which is light weight.
Looking at the rear of the phone, you can see that the rear camera is positioned vertically at the top left spot where as the LED flash is underneath the camera.
It has a fingerprint sensor which at first glance looks flush, Vivo branding is at the lower part of the phone.
The Y3 standard edition comes in two colours which are Ink Blue and Jade Red.
There is a dual nano sims slot as well as micro SD card slot. Both Sims can be on standby.
Looking at the front of the phone, it is covered by a waterdrop notch IPS LCD panel which has a size of 6.53inch.
The display has a resolution of 720 by 1544 pixels and for it to pop nice colours, it has 268 PPI.
It will be very easy to hold in the hand. The bezels and chin too are very low which makes it to have 81.5% screen to body ratio.
Hardware and Software
As i have mentioned earlier, the smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC which is under 12 nano metre process.
It has an Octa core processor which is clocked at 1.95GHz and for graphics and gaming, it has an Adreno 505.
The Vivo Y3 standard edition still runs on Android 9 pie with Funtouch OS 9.1 slapped on top of it. The processor is also paired with a 3GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.
Now like the Vivo Y3, there is a Micro SD card slot now where you can extend the storage up to 256GB.
Without anybody telling you, you can see that it is an entry level smartphone.
If you use phone for calls, videos, browsing, then it’s a phone to get. You can also store large files since it has a 64GB internal storage.
Camera and Battery
In terms of camera, the Vivo Y3 standard edition features a dual rear cameras which is okay for an entry level device.
The camera consists of 13MP camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The front houses an 8MP sensor with an aperture of f/1.8.
With this cameras, pictures taken with this phone will be okay for the price. The camera features LED flash, HDR and panorama.
Both the front and back camera can shoot 1080p videos at 30 frames per second (fps)
Battery wise, the smartphone comes with a whopping 5,000mAh battery which comes with a 10Watts charger in the box.
To be honest, this phone supposed to come with 18W or 30W fast charger in the box. The battery is huge, you need a fast charger to juice it up quickly.
But anyways, the battery is huge which means it can hold charge very well, you know in a smartphone, you can’t get all the features you want, you sacrifice one for the other.
In terms of connectivity, the Vivo Y3 standard edition comes with a dual SIM with support for 4G LTE Network for fast browsing and downloads.
Other features on the phone include WiFi, Bluetooth for a wireless connection, FM radio, A-GPS for location tracking and micro USB for file transfer and charging.
