Samsung launches Galaxy A31; midranger with a huge battery

Samsung mobile has unveiled the Galaxy A31 which is the successor of last year’s A30. The smartphone now makes use of an under display fingerprint scanner, 5000mAh battery capacity and a 48MP main camera.

As far as specifications goes, it comes with a 6.4inches Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 by 2400 pixels. This is the same screen size and resolution present on the older A30. Under the hood, it is powered by an Octa core processor clocked at 2.0GHz.

The device is running on Android 10 with One UI 2. It is available in two storage configurations which are 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM or a 6GB of RAM and 128GB of ROM. There is a Micro SD Card slot for expansion incase the storage isn’t enough for you.

Looking at the rear, there is a quad camera setup in a vertical rectangular module which houses 48MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture, 8MP ultra wide with f 2.2 aperture, 5MP macro camera with f/2.4 aperture and a 5MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture.

For selfies or video calls, there is a 20MP camera with f/2.2 aperture handling the department. The battery capacity is 5,000mAh which is a step in the right direction considering the fact that the older Galaxy A30 came with 4,000mAh battery.

You can recharge the 5,000mAh battery faster since it comes with 15W fast charging support. The smartphone is available in four colours which are Prism Crush Black, Prism Crush Blue, Prism Crush Red and Prism Crush White.

There is no word on when the smartphone will be available and price. Hopefully, it will be available before this month ends or earlier next month.
