So finally, the all new Redmi Note 9 has been launched globally alongside it’s siblings. We earlier shared a news about the standard Redmi Note 9 getting certified by Chinese 3C certification and now it has been made official. The device is the smallest version of the Note 9 series from Xiaomi.
It comes with a smaller 6.53inch display, compared to the huge 6.67inch display size on the other Note 9 series. The punch hole cut-out has been moved from the centre to the upper left corner of the display on the standard Note 9. It’s display produces a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels with up to 450 nits of maximum brightness.
Like other Note 9 series, it still has a front built of Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Under the hood, this one is using a MediaTek chipset. It is a Helio G85 chipset which Xiaomi claims to be a very good gaming chipset for midrange devices. It still runs on Android 10 based on MIUI 11 user interface, alongside a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU.
The smartphone can be gotten in 3GB RAM & 64GB ROM or a 4GB RAM & 64GB ROM. There is a MicroSD Slot for extra storage. For optics, it comes equipped with a quad rear cameras of 48MP as it’s primary lens, 8MP ultra wide, 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensor.
On the front, it has a 13MP selfie camera. The Note 9 series has a side mounted fingerprint scanner but this one comes with a rear mounted fingerprint scanner. Battery capacity is still 5020mAh but with a lesser 18W fast charging and a 9W reverse charging. The price of the 3+64GB version is N71,000 $199 while the price of the 4+128GB version is N89,000 ($249).
