Realme C3 is the latest addition to the Realme budget devices this year. It is the successor of the Realme C2 and yea, it brought a lot of improvement ranging from the MediaTek Helio G70 chipset and the bigger 5,000mAh battery. Let’s dive deep into the Realme C3 specs.

This smartphone is made from plastic, it has a plastic back and a plastic frame. It weighs about 195grams which isn’t too heavy. The dimension of the phone is comfortable to fit into a pocket, it has a dimension of 164.4 x 75 x 9 mm. The exciting stuff here is that it supports splash resistant.
When it comes in contact with a water splash, it will survive but it is not water resistant, just a splash resistant. On the right side of the phone, there is only a power button, while on the left, there is a dual nano SIM slot and an SD card. The left side also houses the volume rockers.
It has minimal chin and thin bezels, which made it to have a screen to body ratio of 82.7%. At the rear, it has a dual camera setup which is in vertical position unlike it’s predecessor which has it’s own setup horizontally. Besides the camera lens is a single led flash which helps in low light photography.
Taking a look at the display, the Realme C3 features a 6.5inch HD+ display, which is a 720 by 1560 pixels. It has an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a 270 ppi density for amazing color reproduction. The smartphone uses an IPS LCD screen with up to 16M colours.
Display on this phone is protected by a corning gorilla glass 3 which helps to protect the display incase of accidental drops. The screen brightness can go as high as 480nits and it is good for a phone of this price point. The chin are smaller than the one found on the latter.
This made it to achieve a screen to body ratio of 82.7%. If you look at the display on it’s predecessor, the Realme C2, you can see that there is an upgrade. The latter uses a 6.1inch HD+ display (720 x 1560) while this new Realme C3 uses a bigger 6.5inch (720 x 1560).
Hardware & Software
Going to the most important aspect of this phone, which is the hardware and software. This device is powered by a MediaTek Helio G70 chipset and it has an Octa core processor which has a speed of 2.0GHz. It runs on Android 10 with Realme’s UI 1.0 on top.
The smartphone comes in three configurations which are; 2GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM and lastly, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM. As if the storage is not enough, you have an option to expand the storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot.
For graphics or gaming, it uses a Mali-G52 2EEMC2 GPU. I can smell an upgrade in the CPU department, it’s predecessor uses a MediaTek Helio P22 chipset while the new Realme C3 uses a MediaTek Helio G70 chipset. Again, the latter runs on Android 9 pie while the new C3 runs on Android 10.
In the photography aspect, this is where the C3 retains the same resolution on it’s predecessor. The smartphone has a dual camera set-up at the back which consists of a 12MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture.
On the front, it has a single 5MP camera for selfies or video calls with f/2.4 aperture. The rear camera night time photography is supported by a single led flash. It shoots videos in 1080p at 30fps likewise the front camera. If we take a look at the older C2, we can notice a few change.
The older C2 has same dual camera setup which includes a 13MP camera + 2MP camera but this new Realme C3 has a 12MP camera + 2MP camera. So yea, the older C2 has 1 camera resolution higher than the new C3. But either way, camera resolution isn’t something to be always considered.
Coming to the battery, this is where this smartphone shines, it rocks a huge 5,000mAh battery capacity which supports 10W charging speed. It would have been nice though if Realme has implemented 20W fast charger for it or a 15W fast charging.
All in all, it is still a good upgrade to have, the older C2 has 4,000mAh battery. For security, we are kind of disappointed because it doesn’t come with a fingerprint sensor. There is still face identification feature though. Connectivity options includes Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and an FM Radio.
Realme C3 Price in Nigeria & Availability
The Realme C3 price in Nigeria starts from N35,000 which is about $98 USD and it’s Availablity in Nigeria is not yet confirmed but we guess it might be available soon.
Note: This price listed here is what the smartphone is priced abroad and not in Nigeria. It might be priced at this amount if it arrives in Nigeria but there is a huge possibility that the price will change if it arrives in Nigeria. Just take this price as a pinch of salt for now.
Thoughts on Realme C3
Yea i believe that Realme C3 is a budget smartphone and i am quite satisfied with it’s specifications. But it would have been awesome if Realme added a rear mounted fingerprint reader to the smartphone. This could be a deal breaker for many.
Aside that, the specifications that this smartphone carries really got me thinking that it could exceed 35,000 Naira ($98) mark. I mean, the presence of the 6.5inch display, Gorilla glass 3 protection on the front, splash resistant and that huge 5,000mAh battery which again supports 10W charging speed. Realme C3 specs are really nice considering the price.
