HMD Global has taken to Twitter to announce the update for the Nokia 6.1 Plus. The update brings in the latest Android 10 as well as December 2019 security patch. The junior brother to the Nokia 6.1 Plus which is the Nokia 6.1 received it’s latest Android 10 update last year alongside other Nokia phones such as Nokia 7.1 and Nokia 9 PureView. Now the company has extended the update to the Nokia 6.1 Plus.
As you all might have known, the Android 10 comes with some nice features such as dark mode, gesture navigation, and smart reply. Some people on twitter has started showing screenshots of the update and from there, we can see that the update version number is v4.10C. Users will need to have alteast 2GB of data to download it as the update comes with a size of 1302.7MB.
The update is going to arrive to users through the air which is commonly called OTA and would be in batches. So it is advisable to check for the update regularly. You can do that through Settings > About Phone > System updates > then Check. The company also shared roadmap for the update, Nokia 7 Plus is going to receive the update this month.
The update will also be rolled out to Nokia 2.2, Nokia 3.1 Plus, Nokia 3.2, and Nokia 4.2 in the first quarter of 2020. After that, it will be rolled out to the Nokia 1 Plus, Nokia 5.1 Plus, and Nokia 8 Sirocco. Nokia 6.1 Plus is a pretty decent midrange smartphone which was released last year July 2019, it comes with Android Oreo out of the box but later, it was upgraded to Android 9 pie and now Android 10 is ready.
It powered by the Snapdragon 636 SoC which has an Octa core processor clocked at 1.8GHz. There is a dual rear cameras at the back which includes a 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP camera with f/2.4 aperture. Dual LED flash is present to support your shot in low lightening conditions and for selfies, there is a 16MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture. 3060mAh battery powers the phone and it supports 18W fast charging.
