Looking at the design of the A56, you don’t need anyone to tell you that it is an entry level device. The camera lenses are set-up vertically while the fingerprint sensor is at the centre of the rear. There is an Itel branding below the left side of the phone alongside the speaker cut-out.
Looking at the right spine of the phone, you can see volume rockers and power button while the left side houses a SIM slot for dual Micro SIMS and one SD card. Both the frame and back is made from plastic which isn’t surprising. It weighs 164grams with a dimension of 159.7 x 77.7 x 8.9 mm.
The smartphone uses a Micro dual SIM slot plus an SD card slot, all in one tray. It is available in three colours which are Aqua Blue, Champagne Gold and Deep Grey. The design of the device doesn’t look bad, it has a gradient colour finish.
Coming on to the front side, there is no notch here, the screen uses an IPS LCD panel which measures 6.0 inches in diagonal with HD resolution, that is a 480 by 960 pixels. The chin and bezels are pretty thick which made it to have a screen to body ratio of 73.2% and 18:9 aspect ratio.
For average colour reproduction, it uses a 242 PPI density.
Hardware & Software
Under the hood, there is a UniSoC Spreadtrum SC7731E chipset powering the smartphone and that chipset uses a quad core processor which has a speed of 1.8GHz. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie Go Edition with ARM Mali T820 MP1 GPU for graphics or gaming.
The device comes in only one configuration which is a 1-giga byte of RAM and 16-giga byte of internal storage. There is a micro SD card slot where you can further expand the storage up to 64-giga byte.
When it comes to the camera department, the Itel A56 features a dual rear cameras which includes an 8-mega pixels main camera and a 0.3-mega pixels depth sensor. It can shoot videos in 720p at 30fps only and it doesn’t have electronic image stabilization.
There is a single rear flash light at the rear which helps in low light capturing. On the front, there is a 5-mega pixels camera for selfies and video calls. The front camera also has a single led flash for night time selfie lovers.

Like i said earlier, the main selling point of this device is the battery, it comes with a 4,000mAh battery capacity which doesn’t support fast charging. It can take 3 hours to fully charge. For security, it has a rear mounted fingerprint scanner.
Connectivity options includes Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and FM Radio.
